Spider Hole November 2021

Monday 27th October 2014

John Cooper, Pete Hann, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Whilst AVP capped a boulder the rest of us hauled up his spoil. The bottom shaft is drippy and the fumes go straight up, not the way we’ve come down. The aerial ropeway has been removed as it kept catching helmets. 2 hours. John.

Jude, Pete, John Cooper & Myself. A frustrating night of capping and hauling. Two large boulders at the bottom refused to succumb to capping due to them being tightly wedged and the stratification being laid horizontally and not vertically. This meant that the rock was peeling horizontally in 100mm layers. 26 caps later all the team were either wet and cold / bored or bloody frustrated! We decided to call it a day. Adrian.

Pete Hann, Rich Marlow, Jude & Myself & Nigel Graham. Digging and capping session. More gaps opening up in the floor and a good draught coming upwards. One bucket of cement used. Adrian.
