John Cooper, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. 2 mixes of cement used to add another layer to the Spiral staircase. Jude went to the dig face and measured the ongoing passage as 4.3m. 1½ hours.

Monday 24th June 2019

John Cooper, Mark Easterling (Bean), Mike Kousiounis, Will Reed, Wayne Starsmore, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Took in 2 bags of sand. First we cleared Four-Tonne Shaft, 14 loads. John loading, Bean on the ledge, Wayne hauling, Jude in The Pit, Adrian and Mike doing top haul and transfer to the Spiral Staircase (Will arriving as this bit was finishing). We then moved down and started filling up the bottom of Four-Tonne again! John lowering the floor of the bottom tunnel, Bean hauling the loads back to the base of the bottom shaft where Adrian transferred it for Mike and Will to haul up to pass to Jude to stack at the bottom of Four-Tonne shaft. Meanwhile Wayne broke up lots of the rocks that had been left at the base of the bottom shaft. About 40 loads hauled up the bottom shaft. 2¼ hours.

Monday 17th June 2019

John Cooper, Courtenay James, Mitch Parry, Wayne Starsmore, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. Took in 2 bags of sand. Another 50 loads, mainly clatch, hauled up Four-Tonne Shaft. Still another half session required to clear it all. John loading, Mitch on the ledge, Courtenay hauling, Jude in The Pit, Adrian and Wayne at the top hauling and dumping the spoil on the Spiral Staircase. Courtenay and Mitch went to the bottom for a look before coming out. Very drippy following the heavy rain last week. 2½ hours.
