John Cooper, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. 2 bags of sand taken in. Two mixes taken to the bottom. Adrian used half in the bottom tunnel whilst John used the other half in the bottom shaft. 2½ hours.

John Cooper, Adrian Vanderplank and Jude Vanderplank. 8mm hole 150mm deep for single det drilled. Popped the boulder from the base of the bottom pitch. Fumes came out very quickly. Then a bit of judicious hammering allowed Jude, Adrian then John into the continuation. Unfortunately the squeeze up to the left was immediately followed by a drop back down into an enlargement of the rift about 3m long, 1m wide. There are holes in the floor on the right which appear to drop back down into the continuation of the original passage. Appears that it might be easier to dig down at the upward squeeze point for future glory. Now need a lot of cementing walls to hold the spoil nearer the bottom rather than lifting all the way to the Spiral Staircase. 2 hours.
