James Collings, John Cooper, Aubrey Newport, Simon Richards (Nik-Nak), Adrian Vanderplank, Jude Vanderplank and Lee Venning. As it was Lee’s first time a life-line was taken in and used for the main split pitch. We took in 2 additional bags of sand. With Jude filling at the bottom of Four Ton Shaft, John on the ledge, Nik-Nak above and James hauling, 50 loads were moved up Four-Tonne Shaft, passed to Lee in the Pit then Aubrey hauled up to the top of the Pit Wall where Adrian was adding to the wall. There is no cement left and only 2 bags of sand. Very drippy tonight. 2½ hours. John.

session from the bottom of 4 tonne shaft. Jude at the bottom, John on the step,
James & NikNak at the top of the shaft, Lee in the pit and Aubrey &
Myself wall building and dumping the spoil that had been hauled up. 50 buckets.
2 buckets of cement. At least another session of clatch to haul out. Lee’s comment
was the most amusing after he had climbed 4 tonne shaft and was in the main
chamber looking extremely hot.
