It got rather smelly at
the bottom of Nut Pitch. With John and Buddy in the bottom tunnel 24 loads were
hauled up the bottom shaft before discretion ruled. There is a lot of spoil to
remove. There are some large boulders to be broken up before putting in a
bucket for hauling. Several weeks work required to clear the face. Wire brought
out but notice left in. 1½ hours.
